Exploring by cycle & trains the wonderful Prosecco area around Valdobbiadene, venturing into the nearby Dolomites mountains, and taking in the amazing city of Venice.
The North Eastern part of Italy will host our tour for a diverse mix of cultural & scenic treats. From our nearby base of Asolo, just 40 mins from Venice airport, we take in a large part of the Veneto region. Mixing some gentle cycle days through scenic vineyard soaked valleys, or further up into the high Dolomites and stunning villages such as Cortina D'Ampezzo. Take a walk through cities like Treviso, Veneto and the magnificent canals of Venice. In the evenings relax in the quaint piazzas of towns like Valdobbiadene, whilst sipping a glass of prosecco and savouring the many wonderful local delicacies. This tour will be fully escorted by Italian speaking guides where you will have the opportunity to learn or improve your Italian language. Day 1 - Arrival at Venice Airport, Marco Polo you will be picked up and taken to the villa in Asolo ( a 40 minute drive). Welcome dinner for all the participants Day 2 - Asolo Pick up bikes & ready to ride. A gentle ride today around the town of Asolo, heading for the center which provides a great view of the area and a chance to get acquainted. A tasty lunch, maybe afternoon siesta before an evening spent in the piazzas soaking up the atmosphere. Day 3 - Valdobbiadene A visit to the Prosecco region of Valdobbiadene today, cycling through some beautiful vineyards and of course a chance to sample some of the fine wines. Day 4 - Venice A short train ride into the magnificent city of Venice. This unique place does not dissapoint. We take a walking tour of the best locations and sights and fill up our day before heading home in the early evening. Day 5 - MONTEBELLUNA A beautiful easy ride today through the local countryside, taking in some historic and majestic villas. We continue on to the quaint town of Montebelluna.
Back home tonight in time for some cooking classes and more local delicacies. Day 6 - DOLOMITES early start today as we make our way higher to the start of the Dolomites. Italy's high ground and mountainous peaks. Plenty of riding options today from a long one over a high pass or a gentler cruise around nearby villages. Either way the scenery is spectacular and the memories plentiful. Day 7 - CASTELFRANCO & TREVISO An easy recovery pedal in the morning if you wish before we take a tour around the towns of Castelfranco, Veneto & Treviso. Each place with its own character & history and of course plenty of classical monuments.
Another cooking extravaganza in the evening. Day 8 - WINERY We venture out to the local winery for some tasting & guided tour. Checking out also the traditional oil mill. Day 9 - LOCAL REGION Lots of choices today, from a gentle pedal in the area, to a long out and back scenic journey. Enjoy your last day exploring the village further, or simply rest and savour the previous days experiences.
We cap off the tour with a farewell dinner in the piazza.
More fine food and wine and many memories to discuss. Day 10 - DEPARTURE DAY Either a transfer back to Venice for departing flight or assistance with further European exploration. |
